John W. Olver Transit Center

Greenfield, Massachusetts

The new John W. Olver Transit Center offers a hub for bus and other transit services; local government offices are located on the second floor. It includes a community room large enough for 100 people, a waiting area for transit passengers, and a café.

The 24,000-square-foot building is the first zero-net-energy transit center in the United States, and includes a photovoltaic solar array, 22 geothermal wells, and an on-site wood-pellet boiler.
