Fontaine Bros. Awarded Contract for Minnechaug Regional High School

Fontiane Bros. has been awarded the contract to build the New Minnechaug Regional High School serving the towns of Hampden and Wilbrham, Massachusetts. Work began in early September and the new school will open in the fall of 2012. After work on the new school is complete, Fontaine will demolish the existing structure and then construct new playing fields on the site.

"We are beyond excited to start this project", President David Fontaine said of the new school, "it's a great opportunity to build another school here in the local community and to continue our great relationship with the Hampden Wilbraham Regional School District."

Fontaine bid $53,618,500 to build the 241,000 square foot building, beating out six other bidders for the work. The project is another in a long line of public high schools that Fontaine has been awarded, including Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Belchertown High School, Auburn High School, and Fitchburg High School. The project Architect is The Mount Vernon Group and Arcadis will serve as the Owner's Project Manager. An official groundbreaking was held on site September 3rd.
